The bike ride of the season you do not want to miss!

The ride: Fahrrad begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Firetrucker Brewery in Ankeny (716 SW 3rd Street) and follows the High Trestle Trail to the Flat Tire Lounge in Madrid (304 S Madison Street), for entertainment and then back to Firetrucker for an Oktoberfest celebration.
Grab your cycling team, friends, family and co-workers and REGISTER TODAY! A Traveling Trophy will be presented to the largest team registered. Bragging rights and a team picture will be showcased on the wall at the Flat Tire Lounge.
Registration: $50 minimum donation per person to participate in the ride and receive a dry-fit t-shirt; $30 for children 15 and under. Raise an additional $150 dollars ($200 total) and earn this Primal event jersey. Register online now.
Packet pick up is Friday, September 16 from 4-6 p.m. at Firetrucker Brewery in Ankeny (716 SW 3rd Street). Pick up your Fahrrad dry-fit t-shirt and ride packet. Firetrucker is offering $1 off a pint of beer during packet pick-up. If you can’t make it Friday, we’ll have your packet and dry-fit shirt available the day of the ride.
Fahrrad Parking September 17
Fahrrad begins at Firetrucker Brewery in Ankeny, 716 SW 3rd Street. There is limited parking at Firetrucker Brewery due to the Ankeny Farmer’s Market. Park at the DART Park ‘N Ride by the Ankeny Fire Station or at Ankeny City Hall. Check out the parking and event map.

9:45 a.m. Start the ride! Take the High Trestle Trail (see parking and event map) to the Flat Fire Lounge in Madrid. Watch for Fahrrad volunteers along the route with free water and granola bars.
First Stop (7 miles): Stop at the Oasis for free beer by Team
Second Stop (5 miles): Stop at Nite Hawk in Slater for a free Bloody
Mary or screwdriver.
Third Stop (8 miles): Flat Tire Lounge in Madrid.
Noon-2 p.m. Jason Walsmith of The Nadas performs at Flat Tire Lounge. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. German costume contest at 2:00 p.m.
4 p.m. We anticipate riders will arrive back at Firetrucker Brewery around 4 p.m. Live and silent auctions will follow as well as an Oktoberfest Celebration at Firetrucker Brewery including live polka music (3-6 p.m.), speed eating contest, traditional bags game contest, stein holding contest, costume contest, live band beginning at 7 p.m. and more!
Bike World will be available for ride support at Firetrucker Brewery and Flat Tire Lounge (8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.).
Safety and Weather Information
Remember your helmet. In the event of rain, the ride and festivities will still take place. If there is inclement weather, the events at Flat Tire Lounge and Firetrucker Brewery will still take place.

Liquor Cooler Raffle
Check out the variety in the liquor cooler, cooler included! We have vodka, whiskey, tequila, Kona Coffee and amaretto that you can win in the liquor cooler raffle. Only 25 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $20 each. The drawing will take place after the ride at Firetrucker Brewery and you do not have to be present to win. Live and silent auctions will take place at Firetrucker Brewery after the ride. Bids will close on the silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Items include Primal bike jerseys and shorts, Embassy Suites package, restaurant gift cards, golf bag and Woodland Hills gift certificate, Bike World Package, Ray Gun bike themed package, Capital City equipment rentals, salon packages, tasting party for ten at Vom Fass, football signed by the 2015 Green Bay Packers team, Iowa Wild package, stay at the Hotel Pattee, piano lessons, a grill and much, much more!
The live auction takes place at 5:00 p.m. at Firetrucker Brewery and includes custom artwork, Boyt hunting luggage and a Big Yellow Bike tour, where groups of eight to sixteen adults can ride on the Dutch-made Big Yellow Bike and tour different bars and interesting parts of downtown Des Moines.
